The client wished to create an additional sitting area off the existing bedroom, futureproofing the property so that, should mobility issues arise in later years, all essential living spaces can be accessed on one level.
The proposed design incorporates a hipped roof with Velux rooflights on two elevations to maximise natural light within the new space. Bi-folding doors have also been included to provide direct access to, and views over, the rear garden.
The project falls under Permitted Development rights; however, Building Control approval will still be required to ensure compliance with current regulations.
